One year ago
We have now officially lived in this rental house for 1 year to the day. We haven't moved a lot so it was kind of a big deal. Well, it also happened to be moving away from our first house, and a place we loved. We moved on a Saturday with a very packed week leading up to it and an extra event on Sunday.
The weekend before we moved we had friends from out of town visiting and the moment they left we started packing up our house. We did it in one week by ourselves which I cannot fathom doing now. We continued on with life as normal throughout that week; we only packed when the kids were sleeping, we never ate out, we celebrated my birthday one evening, and I even went to the Nordstrom sale the day before we moved. :) Somehow, we got it done.
Our last night at 7133.
I didn't realize we had pictures of some of our garden the day we left, but here they are and it makes me sad thinking about all of the produce we left behind and do not have at our fingertips this year. :(
We had a ton of help from friends and family. Our friend on the right even came out and he had a 2-day old newborn at the time.
You can kind of see the UHaul on the right completely full. We had to utilize other people's vehicles for more stuff and Mike had already taken multiple trips to our new place in his car throughout the week. Too much stuff.
We unloaded everything pretty quickly from the UHaul at the new place. There's my sister in her tube top avoiding tan lines for her wedding. :)
The kids were super helpful. They wanted to haul as much up the driveway as possible. Every now and then they would take a break on the couch and cheer for everyone as they did it. When Calvin took off his helmet his hair was all sweaty.
That day Joel also turned 10 months old and I took a picture of him at each month benchmark. He's so little!
What made it an even busier weekend was that the next day Mike and I did the Seafair triathlon. I know you're asking why right now. :) We had signed up for it months earlier and the way everything worked out, moving and the triathlon were on the weekend's agenda. Mike's parents took the kids after helping us move all day on Saturday, we continued to work up until 9:30 pm and then went to sleep to get some rest before the next day. We both had an absolute blast doing the triathlon and were very pleased with our results!
Here we all are eating dinner on our first night at our new house. Don't worry, we ordered out!
We aren't sure of where we will be a year from now, but for now this is our home!

That makes me a little sad seeing the old house. I miss that house too!
