Tuesday market

Before I get into today's post, I must say that all comments about that photobomber in my previous post are totally welcome.  Now you get to see what I have to deal with on a daily basis.  Haha!  :)  In reality, he keeps me young by giving me lots to laugh about.

We went to the farmer's market today.  It was the first time we had been to this one this year.  It's from noon-6:30 which is actually a really good time versus most markets that are from 3-7 (nap time and dinner time), but for whatever reason we just haven't made it yet this year.  I absolutely LOVE going to farmer's markets and in the past have found myself going to about 2 per week.  It doesn't get better than beautiful flowers alongside the freshest and most tasty produce!  Farmer's markets are one of my love languages.  You think I'm kidding! :)

We had lunch on a bench before walking around.  Joel just ate the cream cheese off of his bagel and I sadly did not bring wipes or napkins.  It was so hot it had dried on his face too.  I just decided to wipe him down with his shirt and let him go shirtless.

I can't forget to mention that while we were eating lunch Hannah looked at me and said, "this is where people bring their junk they don't want and sell it to other people, right?"  I was cracking up as I remembered Mike and I made a comment to each other about some junk people were selling at a fair we had been to.  It was supposed to be a flea market, but indeed was just a bunch of junk.  She clearly had overheard the "private" comments we made.  I had to explain that there was no junk here, only stuff from the farms.

Hannah bought some kale and a cucumber from here.  (Time to juice!)  She loves getting to hand over the money.  If I carried cash regularly I'd give her smaller bills and coins so she could figure out the right amount to give.  Alas, financial lessons are prohibited by the easiness of swiping the card.

The kids were so excited to see the peaches.  I have been refusing to buy them at the store so far.  They just aren't as good.  These ones certainly did not disappoint, the vendor kindly cut one up for us on the spot.

Even Joel got to pay for the kettlecorn.  He was pretty excited about the "cone."

We also couldn't resist getting more berries.  Joel got on his tippy toes and grabbed a strawberry for himself while we decided what we wanted.  I thought it was funny, but the lady wasn't too amused.  He was our QA for goodness' sake, most vendors are fine with that.  I think I'm going to visit a different berry vendor next trip.

Before we left we listened to some music and enjoyed some kettlecorn.  I was melting in the heat while we watched, so we didn't sit too long.  Just a statement of fact, I do not complain about the heat!

Get out and go to a farmer's market to taste the season's finest!!  :)
