Catching up

I mentioned last week was quite busy.  It was exhausting for me too.  Hannah started school and that could have been enough for me.  The back and forth, loading and unloading, getting ready, packing bags up and unpacking when we get home...just thinking about it makes me tired.  We also had some other stuff going on.

Ava had her two week check-up.  We were so curious how much she'd weigh since we could just see how much she had grown and weren't sure how accurate our kitchen scale weigh-in was.  She weighed in at 9 lbs. 5 oz. last tuesday, which ends up being about a 2.5 lb. gain in 15 days.  The days of having a teeny tiny newborn are fleeting.  Such a bittersweet feeling.  All of my babies have been this way, born about average, shoot up high in the percentile rank through 6-8 months, and then drop wayyyy down...  They are all in 0-10th percentile in most things except head size which is higher.  I assume she'll follow suit.

Another big deal last week was that Hannah got her cast off!!  There are lots of pictures to follow as Hannah likes to ham it up when she is solo with Daddy.

The X-rays came back with a fully intact ulna!  Thank the Lord!  There is a pin through it and will have to be surgically removed in 6-8 months.  She is slowly beginning to use her right arm again.  Slowly.  She is very cautious with it and still holds it in the position her cast held her in, but we are encouraging her to stretch it out and use it!  We haven't taken her yet, but she can get back in the pool which is the best non-impact/weigh-bearing thing for her to do.  (Yay for more pool pictures!  Haha!)  She will have a scar where the bone broke through, you can kind of see it in the pic above, and on her elbow where the pin went in too.  We are happy that cast is gone!

Now you've been updated!  I hope to keep up with life better this week as it seems things just don't slow down!
