More weekend
I really only recapped half of our weekend yesterday. Here's the rest. (All photos courtesy of my sister. Thank you!)
I forgot to add this cute one to the soccer post. The boys played with Auntie and Uncle Randy on the sideline during Hannah's soccer time.
Sunday morning we headed out to Marymoor to do Make a Wish's Walk. My sister and her friend made up costumes for us all.
There were lots of activities for the kids including face painting.
Even Joel got his face painted. I really doubted whether he would do it or not, but I was proud that he did. I don't know if I have mentioned this on the blog or not, but Joel does NOT like new things. I repeat, does NOT like new things. It's pathetic and funny and sad all at the same time. More on this later.
Even Ava had a tutu made up for her. Sadly, we had to cut the walk short when the thunder and lightning brought heavy, heavy rain. I mean big, fat drops. We were SOAKED!
Later that evening we went to my dad's for more of my sister's birthday weekend celebrations and watched the Seahawks. Well, I kind of did. There was that lightning delay and I took a nap (so so tired!) and I made cookies with the kids, so whatever shouts and cheers that I heard kind of counts as me watching the game.
My dad got a Seahawks jersey for Joel for his birthday. Oh my gosh, soooo cute!! That is, once he actually put it on. Remember what I said about new things? Yeah, he did not want us to put it on him. He was crying and whining and fighting us putting it on him. He did the same thing when I got him new shoes this summer. Pathetic and funny and sad all at the same time. Here is the kicker, yesterday I decided to give Joel a blanket in his crib since he's going to eventually stop wearing those warm fleece footy jammies and need something to keep him warm. He freaked out and was crying until I took the blanket out of his crib. Later that night when the kids were joking around in bed, Mike went in their room to tell them to stop and Mike said to Joel, "Lay down and stop playing or I'm going to throw that blanket into your crib!" Ha ha ha! (Please don't take this as an effective parenting approach!) I love that little boy!
Joel was loving on Ellie (dogs are the one animal he doesn't mind getting close to). She was scared of the thunder!
Well, that was our weekend. Have a happy hump day! What day is it?!?! :)

ReplyDeleteForgot to caption the picture of Randy and the boys. "Dah-eee does this with us!" -Calvin :)
ReplyDeleteAnd the only reason why Joel is smiling in the picture with me in his NEW jersey is because I said the magic words... ICE CREAM!
Oh yeah and I am CRACKING UP about Mike's threat to put the blanket in Joel's crib.
