Carmel
The past few days have been un-ordinarily warm. I have been getting these feelings or moments of "summer." Besides the sunscreen and shorts, the air was just smelling like summer. On Sunday, we went to Carmel by-the-sea. This beach is THE spot. I want to take you here.
It was a super sunny and warm day, but it was windy! The kids got cold quickly. We ended our beach time and walked up the hill to the town for lunch.
We also stopped by the candy store, notice the full mouths! Both Hannah and Calvin wanted to spend their money. They both had $1 from a Valentine's Day gift and their hearts were set on a candy shop. They are really into getting money and buying things these days. It's actually very fun to teach them about money and how they can't have anything and everything (it's also kind of sad to have to say no to just about everything since they only have 1 dollar). We don't give them an allowance, but they can earn money from doing extra chores around the house. One time we gave them a penny for every rotten lemon they picked up that had fallen from the tree. Yesterday, Calvin came in the house with a bucket full of lemons asking for pennies. :) These kids make me swoon with their cuteness!
We wish we could have stayed longer, but all good things must come to an end. We left Carmel around 2:30 so the kids could get a nap in on the hour and 15 minute ride home. We were all super exhausted yesterday from lack of sleep and so much playing. Both Mike and I were in bed before 9 p.m. The rubber has met the road...4 kids is serious work!
Gorgeous. I want to go there!!!!!
