Japanese Friendship Garden

Yesterday, we visited the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Jose.  I hadn't really heard much about it because it is probably overshadowed by the much more popular zoo and park that is right next door.  We're visiting that on Friday.  Anyway, this was such a fun place for the kids. They enthusiastically ran around the garden's bridges, walkways crossing over ponds full of koi and the streams from the waterfalls.  It was very pretty!

How cute are they?  I mean, my kids could be models.  They just smile for the camera when you ask them to take a picture.

NOT!!  This is one of many, many outtakes.  Bribes tend to work too.  This time I bribed them with a penny to be able to put in the donation bucket that the coins rolled around a vortex into.  They just love those things!

I should have just gone for the action shot in the first place. :) I thought for sure one of them was going to end up in the water!  Thankfully, no one got hurt during the taking of these photos.  They built up an appetite and had lunch on a bench and enjoyed the garden the way it was meant to be...tranquil, peaceful, serene.  That is, until they were done with lunch and off running again!  What a fun adventure!
