The Great Migration
I have spent some time scouring Craigslist and last week we spent a good deal of time picking up our goods in preparation for this day. This past Saturday, Hannah moved into her own room!! I had been waiting for this day so I could finally decorate, knowing that the arrangement is permanent.
We moved a lot of stuff around as all of the kids changed rooms except Calvin. The boys are now sharing a room which will most likely be the case for the rest of their time under our roof. Well, maybe when Hannah is off to college they won't have to share. Okay, I need to stop or else I'm going to get sad!
Even though I did practically none of the heavy lifting, I have been dreading this because I knew it was going to be a messy project. Finding new places for everything and decorating takes time. A long time (for me). And quiet (my thought process needs to be uninterrupted for more than 30 seconds). And energy (ack, I'm sooo tired!).
This is the current state of affairs in Hannah's room. Hannah is not the neatest person ever anyway, but we have some major work to do in her room. It will be fun for me to do a room tour when we are finished. Give me a few months, at least. She was excited for her own room of course, but that first night she sure missed Calvin. It was so sad and so sweet.
I got a good deal of things put up on walls in the boys' room, but most of the rest of the day was spent lounging around. Ava is still wearing her jammies and this was at 4 p.m. on Saturday! Sadly, we have all been hit in some way or another with some sort of bug. Mike was feeling it Saturday, but he did all of the heavy lifting anyway. Joel got it the worst Sunday night with some stomach virus, fortunately it came and went quick! Ava is super snotty and having a hard time sleeping. So I have been up at 3 am for an hour the past two nights in a row. Wowza, I could hardly get out of bed this morning!
We have been so healthy since moving down and I have attributed it to being able to be outside more and being able to let fresh air in the home almost daily. Alas, it hit us. I guess we weren't going to be immune forever! Praying that this sick time passes quickly. Have a great day, friends!
