Cousins
Look who came into town!
My aunt and uncle were on a road trip following their son who did a spring break baseball game tour of California. He plays for Wilson High School in Portland, OR. One of the games was played at a high school about 2 miles from our house! The kids just loved watching him play and couldn't stop pointing and saying, "There's Jonathan!" really loudly.
Joel was upset because we told him to be quieter or sit down or something mean like that.
The kids LOVE their cousin. They love all of their cousins, but the big cousins play hard with them and pretty much do anything they ask, so they are extra special.
The weather ended up being perfect for the game, which we were fortunate to have because it rained all morning.
The kids explored around the field, watching him from every angle imaginable.
First, he played third base. We were pretty close to him here and I had to keep shushing the kids because they just wanted to talk and cheer for him. I kept telling them that he had to focus on the game. Oh man, these kids!
Then we got to watch him pitch!
Hannah was keeping score.
It looked a little something like this:
1 hit with the bat
1 hit with the bat
1 hit with the bat
1 stryk
1 stryk
Calvin loves hanging out with Uncle John!
Ava is just all smiles all the time!
He was with his team most of the time so Calvin was so excited when he finally got to hang out with him.
You can see we added one kid each picture.
Eventually, things fell apart. Picture taking is just about the hardest thing ever!
Unless, gummy bears are offered as bribes. Fake smiles earn gummy bears too. :)
We just had so much fun with them in town!
Too much fun! I was hoping for a post about this. I talked to Auntie Lisa last night and she gave me the cliff notes. :)
ReplyDeleteThose are some California kids - so tan!
Also, is there a stranger holding Ava in the background?
