1.5 weeks in
Well, we are well into week 2 of school and I am feeling much more settled into the routine. Originally, I thought the rush of the morning was going to get me, but it wasn't that at all. It was the fact that Hannah got out of school at 2:35 which is smack dab in the middle of naptime. The first few days I was doing a little song and dance to keep the cranky kids awake for an extra hour before getting Hannah. That got old after day 1. Fortunately, we have wonderful people who are helping me out big time with Hannah.
I am thankful I get a one year break from the 11:55 dismissal time. There is so much more freedom! Ava is still taking a morning nap, so she can get that in and we still have lots of time to go do something else.
Today, we went to the pool. With school in session, it was like we had 3 huge private pools to ourselves. We had so much fun! Only evidence I have is the baby crashing immediately in the car on the way home. That is what 2 hours of fun in the pool does to you. That is something I can definitely get used to.
Yesterday, we filled up the whale pool. They couldn't even wait to get suits on!
I am so thankful the rhythm of school has started to feel manageable and normal. The kids are also adjusting and not so emotionally exhausted come dinner time. We have a great year ahead of us!!
