Missing summer
We're doing a throwback since it is Thursday. A throwback to one week ago, which at least feels like forever ago. Can it be summer again already? Pretty please? Our days were faaaar from lazy, but our schedule was so lax. I thought I knew what was coming for me, but I wasn't prepared for how emotionally drained I am. The kids also are adjusting, especially that Hannah girl. A whole day of school is long!
Last week, our final thing on our Summer Fun list was to have a "sleep party" and a tent. We set up all of their beds in the tv room, watched a movie, then went to bed all together out there. We also attempted a giant fort, but it didn't last too far into the movie. Sadly, one of the little ones missed the "sleep" memo and thought it was time to party. He'll get another chance to try at the next sleep party, him and maybe Ava too. I know you are wondering and yes, I did participate in this family affair. I slept on the couch, which happens to be my most favorite place to sleep!
As with all change, we just have to readjust our normal and get into a routine to feel like things are running smoothly. Until then, I will be reminiscing of our summer days and even possibly consider homeschooling. Not really, but the thought did cross my mind.
If you want to talk to someone who homeschooled multiple kids you should talk to Luke's mom. She homeschooled all five of her kids until high school and they turned out "normal" and are all really smart self-learners.
ReplyDeleteBut for the record, you're crazy :-)
