Making caramels
Wednesday night, Mike and I made our annual batch of gingerbread caramels that we gift each year.
Thursday, the boys saw it and asked if they could wrap them. The answer to that was a no-brainer.
Joel separated the caramels and put one on a piece of parchment.
Calvin folded the two edges together and twisted the sides. Team work makes the dream work.
I was doing whatever job that needed to be done and caught a couple great pics of them. Joel's tongue. So cute!
The best part of doing this was more than just getting all of the caramels wrapped. The boys started telling each other how much they love each other.
Calvin: "I love Joel so much."
Me: "I love Joel too. I love you too."
Joel: "I love you too, Calvin."
Calvin: "No, I love you so so so much."
Joel: "I love you so so so much."
Sweeter than the nearly 300 caramels we wrapped up. Way sweeter. And a welcome change from what is often happening.
What was Ava doing during this time, you ask. Just standing at the kitchen sink, eating dish soap bubbles with a spatula. Rest assured, the soapy water was about 20 minutes new.
What are you looking at?
I call that the price of progress.
As I mentioned, we are leaving Monday for Charleston. I honestly do not know how much I will blog, if at all. My plan while there is to spend some very quality time with my husband and explore the heck out of that city and more. Time might allow for blogging, and time may not. We will probably post on instagram a bit, so you can follow us there.
Have a great weekend!
