Post nap time cartoons
All of the kids still go down for naps at 2 p.m. Hannah doesn't always fall asleep, but lately she has. Before watching tv she has to do her homework, which she speeds through in like 20 seconds. Calvin always naps and is the most needy when he wakes up. It takes him a good 20 minutes of cuddle time to be able to function as a member of the family. Rob him of his cuddles and we pay for it in meltdowns. Joel usually gets up last and requires a quick snuggle and then is good to go. After nap time, we usually have a small snack and watch a cartoon or tv show. Lately, it's been Gullah Gullah Island, The Fresh Beat Band, or Wild Kratts.
When they were watching the other day, they were all lined up sharing the blanket and I had to grab a picture. As soon as the camera came out, Calvin responded accordingly. I wanted to tell him to stop, but this is exactly Calvin's mood at this time of day. Sometimes I feel this way too. After naps is the hardest stretch for me. The wait for Daddy to come home seems to really drag on. The nice thing being down here is, after cartoons they usually go outside to play and it perks them and me right up. It's the little boost I need to power through til Daddy arrives.
