Thanksgiving feast
This morning, Hannah woke up and yelled, "Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!" as she ran down the hall. It was quite the wake-up call. She was very excited about her Thanksgiving feast that they had today since there is no school next week. I was excited because I was able to go help in her class. I was so eager to go since I really can't when I have 3 other kids in tow. I also wanted to see the faces of some of the names I hear about at home.
Pilgrims and Native Americans, about to sit down together to feast.
There was so much food and this little pilgrim girl ate quite a bit of it. However, as you can imagine, most kids did not touch any of it and then just threw their whole plate away. It was really sad, I actually stopped one of the girls before she threw away her untouched homemade samosa. You are darn right I ate it!
It was fun to see all of the kids. I started reading Pocahontas (the real story) to Hannah and one-by-one, 4 other little girls began to crowd around us. After the story, they all jumped up to play school. It worked out that Hannah was the teacher and was telling her students what to do (big surprise!). I loved being able to meet some of her friends and see them in action. I also got to meet some of the other moms which was really nice. Sometimes we see each other at pick-up or drop-off, but usually we don't get to chat too much. They are all very nice and I instantly feel more connected, which is just what I was needing.
Happy Friday!
You're darn right!
