Sunnyvale saturday market

A few weeks back I was exploring downtown Sunnyvale and saw a street full of canopies.  I wasn't sure if it was a one time deal or a weekly market.  This past Saturday, I took Mike up there since he hadn't seen downtown Sunnyvale (which is super cute!) and lucky for us me, it is a Saturday Farmer's Market indeed.  You bet we stopped to check it out.

I was in AWE!!  There was so much produce and it wasn't the plain ole winter produce (kale, kale, and more kale).  There was chard, gai lan, cucumbers, parsnips, rutabagas, all sorts of lettuce, apples, pomegranates, chestnuts, bok choy, soy chum, and tomatoes galore!  And the tomatoes weren't stupid expensive like they are at the Farmer's Markets in Seattle.  Who really pays $9 per pound for tomatoes?!?!  The ones here ranged from $2-4/lb. which is in my price range.

And then if my jaw couldn't drop any further, there were beautiful, ripe organic strawberries!!  They were the most delicious and sweet strawberries too.  Fresh strawberries in November?  I can't get over it.  We definitely brought home one of these 3 packs, as well as bok choy and cilantro.  Had I known there was a market here each Saturday, I wouldn't have stocked up on veggies earlier in the week.  I am so excited about this find!
