A-frame tent
The kids have been playing a lot of house lately. It is GREAT because they all play AND they all get along. Hannah and Calvin are the mom and dad and Joel is the baby. We have to draw the line at the dinner table and tell them that we are mom and dad. Otherwise, we are Auntie and Uncle Randy, and when Joel needs a break from playing house, they ask him if he wants to go see "Auntie."
Currently, they are occupying Ava's room. However, they have also played in Joel's tent. Mike and I made him a tent for Christmas.
After a little research online, a trip to the hardware store, and Mike's power tool skills the frame was done. I sewed the cover with fabric I already had and the tent was ready to give on our early Christmas morning. I pretty much followed the instructions from this blog except I stained the wood, made a slot for the wood at the top in the fabric, and put sticky feet on the bottom so it stays put on hardwood too.
Merry Christmas, Joel! This is the type of gift that just keeps giving!
