Cat and mouse
It's Monday and we are back to the grind. It actually has been a welcome transition. We are all feeling more normal again with the errands mostly done, the fridge and pantry stocked (we were bare bones for a bit), and the rhythm of routine. Monday also happens to be garbage day, which means recycling and yard waste pick up as well. This might completely BORE you (sorry!), but I am still completely amused by it down here.

When we first got to Cali, we couldn't help but notice the many large piles of leaves lining the streets. Instead of yard waste bins, you just pile up your yard debris on the street for collection. The amusing part is what is like a game of "Cat and Mouse" when the tractor and Garbage truck come for pick-up. The tractor comes around and scoops up the little piles and literally chases the garbage truck to dump it in the back of the truck. The two trucks zip around the neighborhood, back and forth, back and forth until it is all picked up.

It must be more efficient than bins. I don't know. I do know that the leaves fall painfully slow here compared to Seattle. The cold doesn't hit as fast and the leaves can hang on longer or something. I am ready to be done with the leaves for sure.
For those of you that are bored, I promise to be more interesting later in the week. :) Have a great one!
You better pick up the pace, can't be having none of this bored blogging!
