Ava is 2

  Swallow your sip of iced coffee or kombucha or whatever, I have a hard time even believing it myself....Ava is TWO!  The cutest two year old you ever have seen.

  With school starting today (ugh!) and it just being monday, we did our little celebration for her yesterday.  And after last year's FAIL on getting a birthday cake shot, this year I went overboard and planned it out.  Leave it to me to get carried away.  (Nooo, not me...)

 Found this cute little A sparkler for her cake.

Freaked her out at first, but she got over it.

We sang Happy Birthday with actual candles too.

  I got so carried away making sure the setting was going to work to get my birthday cake shot that I didn't even pay attention to the subject.  Whoops!  She's potty training and her shorts didn't quite make it back on I guess.  That gave me a good laugh.  It was also a good reminder for me.  It's so easy to get distracted by the periphery and small details and lose sight of the main thing, the priority, the whole point.

  Sometimes I just gotta preach to myself.

  After cake we did the presents from us.  Llama Llama books and her own Llama Llama.  She loves "Yama Yama!"

   I breathed a sigh of relief after I got the shot I wanted.  :)  It was the perfect way to celebrate her fully and the perfect end to a busy, busy weekend.  Busy weekends mean lots of pictures which means lots to share!  This week promises to be a little less drought-stricken on the blog front, so you blog-faithful who need their daily dose of Soetaert can be rest assured (ahem, Cort).  :)
