First day of school 2015

Well, the day came and went and was a great success.

Couldn't give him enough hugs before going in to his class.  My sweet boy!

Was looking through baby pictures of him for a class baby book and stumbled upon this.  Where has my wide-eyed baby gone?  I mean, he is still wide-eyed, but this little guy is a school-aged boy!

We had to divide and conquer.  I took Hannah to her class where there was a little reunion of her friends.  It was a little reunion for the parents too, super fun to see familiar faces and catch up!

Ended the night with our ice cream tradition.  Someday Ava will demand a cone with her own ice cream, but for now she is thrilled with her empty cone with a little ice cream scraped in from a sibling.

This year the first day of school faired MUCH better than last year for me.  I kind of knew what to expect as far as nap schedules and pick-up schedules and I was much better prepared.  I'm still waiting for the tiredness and meltdowns to catch up with us, but for now we are still excited about everything.

Calvin did really well too.  He had a little moment of sadness at school, but it was mostly good.  He told me that he almost cried one time, but he kept himself from crying.  He said he was sad because he wanted Mama.  I asked when that was and he said lunch time.  Hannah piped in to say that she came over to his playground to say hi to him at lunch, she kept scanning the playground to find him and when she finally found him she started calling his name.  He finally saw her and they were able to say hi.  Then, with the BIGGEST grin, he said he needed to see Mama or Hannah to feel better and since he saw Hannah he didn't have to cry.

Talk about the sweetest thing ever!

  1. That is so sweet! Hannah is such a little mama. Now I have to keep myself from crying.
