Diving in

I sort of had an extended break without warning last week and I apologize to those couple of you whose highlight is this post-lunch blog.  No one was in town and all of the kids are healthy so that wasn't it.  I have plenty of pictures for material and it certainly isn't for lack of something I have to say!  In fact, it's quite the opposite, sometimes I need to just stop and rest and listen, without distraction, without desire to get something checked off the list, etc.  Our church is doing a media fast, and for everyone it looks a little different.  I am staying off of social media (instagram is my only real offender) and I hadn't decided if my blog was on or off the list.  Well, here I am, so it isn't completely off, but it will not be the usual.

I have gotten a TON done during nap time regarding my little etsy shop.  Things that I've been wanting to do for a long time that were not the top priority and therefore never got done (mostly branding stuff).   I've still got a bunch of ideas in my mind, but just not enough time or energy during the day to get them to fruition.  Hoping I can squeeze them out little by little.

I've also gotten a lot more time to sit and think, pray and meditate.  Which is way more rejuvenating than anything else could be.  Sometimes, most times, it's hard for me to think how just sitting and getting nothing done could ever be beneficial.  I am always apologizing to my husband about how I cannot just sit and be.  I'm a busy bee, always busy, always doing something!  This blog is also very helpful in letting me reconnect my thoughts, but nothing beats reconnecting with God.

I've been reading Interrupted by Jen Hatmaker.  This is after I read her newest book For the Love two times already.  I was SOOO sad I finished For the Love that I immediately turned to the first page and read it all over again.  Fair warning:  you will be laughing so frequently you will annoy your husband and wake him up if you are reading in bed.  She is kind of my fave.  I've also read her book 7.

Hannah started fall swim team which was a big decision for our family, but so far so good!

Ava is still about the cutest thing you've ever seen. I have pictures for a blog all ready to go of just that girl.  She is such a character.

I have other ideas for blogs stirring in my head:
-That time I killed the crockpot, whoops!
-How do Mamas do it? | Saying bye to a crying Calvin everyday at school.
-Four kids at Home Depot and how that is the dumbest evening activity
-Swim Fest 2015 | How sad it is to watch your times get slower
-2-hour nap times are THE BOMB
-That time I almost got my tooth pulled

I am going to end there and just say, that starting school again has been about the craziest and busiest and hardest thing in a while, but it has all gone about the best I can imagine.  (It's all about expectations!)  Definitely diving in head first!!  My little guy is having a harder time with the initial drop off and separation from me, but I knew it would be.  The good news is that he comes out of the classroom with a big smile every day and tells me all about the fun he had.

  Til next time.  Happy monday!
