Boogie boarding with the dolphins
Went to the beach on saturday and took the boogie boards along for the first time. The kids could not wait to try them. Unfortunately, it was kinda windy and therefore cold, so they gave it all a shot and got out right away. They aren't big enough to really do it yet and there was a rip current, so Mike just kind of gave them a big push as the waves came. They still loved it and can't wait for the next time.
The look from shock of the cold wave!
The whole time we were there there were dolphins and other sea life swimming around feeding right in front of us. I don't know how many there were, but there were at least 8 out there.
Mike riding a wave, dolphins in the background...how cool is this?
Even Joel gave it a shot and loved it.
Not all rides were successful, but at least he tried. I am becoming a chicken when it comes to big waves. I have just been wrecked by so many and I don't recover as easily as I used to. That, and the water is cold!
I eventually warmed up enough to go out and swim too. It actually wasn't as cold as I thought it was going to be, it was just getting out that was chilly. I have a triathlon coming up here in Santa Cruz with some friends, so I need to get myself acquainted sooner or later.
Another fun day at the beach!

Totally understand the wimp factor with waves. Paul and I tried to surf a standing wave at a water park....big mistake. I guess if you have to sign a concussion waver to do an activity you might want to sit it out. It's for the kids. ;)
