Hidden Villa

On saturday we explored a place called Hidden Villa.  Hannah's class from her previous school is going on a field trip here this week and I was so sad she was going to miss out as they have been talking about it all year.  I was hoping to go with her class, but I am so thankful I got to go with my family instead.  It's a large space with farm animals, veggie and flower gardens, and hiking and walking trails in the hills.

Welcome to my dream garden!  Seriously.  LOTS of varieties of veggies and flowers planted orderly, but not perfect.  Overgrown hedges of flowers and herbs, wildflowers, and foliage covered arbors.  Maybe one day.

Look carefully for the olives on these trees.

Farm life is actually somewhat appealing to me.  At least reaping the fruits....fresh produce, eggs, milk.  Then I visit one and it all changes.  The sight of mud, dirt, bugs, manure, and then oh, the smells.  I can't deal.  I need to be happy with being a farmer's market girl because that I know I am!!  Still very fresh and local, but also so far removed.

This was such a fun place to explore and one day we could maybe do a hike.  Another little gem not too far from home.

Happy monday!
