After about a week of work (and several months encouraging this change), Mike made our old hutch look new!  Snagged a quick pic after Mike had already painted two doors.  So happy I did.

We used Annie Sloan in Duck Egg Blue and are so pleased with the results.  Annie Sloan is the best!  Not to mention the store that carries her line of paint locally is the cutest store!!  I thought I was going to want to change up the handles too, but I love the brass with this color.  It has lightened up our dining area so nicely.  Now, I have to change the color of the frame I painted that is opposite it.  It used to be the room's pop of color, but we don't need it to serve that function anymore!  For now, it also is going to get the duck egg blue treatment, which may be overkill, but better than what it is!

I love dreaming up these sort of things, but have absolutely no desire to do the actual paint job.  Thankfully, my husband does.  I am LOVING his new year's resolution---the year of no laziness.  Let me be the first to say he is keeping it up quite well!

Thanks, Mike!!

Next, please blog about how easy it was to paint your frame. Maybe a certain someone will get a desire to paint a much smaller one for me. :)

  2. Awesome. We're planning on turning a hutch from my mom into a new bar. It's wood, but now I'm kind of thinking about painting it. Hum...
