Accessorizing
Daily life today isn't really "blog worthy" (darn you, DMV!!), so I'm choosing to share something a little more fun!
I have just recently been more interested in accessorizing. My collection is slowly growing and to organize it I made this jewelry board. I found the frame on the side of the road, for the inside I covered some foam core in fabric (both I had on hand), and then pushed in pins to hang my necklaces and bracelets. The whole project was very cheap, very simple, very tidy, and most importantly very cute.
If you look closely you can see my new Ava charm. Mike custom ordered this on Etsy for me a few Mother's Days ago and I have since added the Joel charm and now Ava. You can now hear me before I enter a room, as 4 charms give a good jingle. :)
I love this necklace, but if I were to do it over again I'd make the circles smaller. Adding the 4th charm really changed the way all of the charms hang. Shoulda coulda woulda!
Love it! I want to make one. Do the push pins hold well? I have a couple really heavy necklaces.
ReplyDeleteYou should try doing two pins (sewing pins). Tell me if it works!
DeleteOk, you're super duper crafty. It's adorable!! Love that you found the frame on the side of the road and would love to have a secret video footage of you pulling over the car and sticking that in the trunk. :)
ReplyDeleteWe were actually on a walk and so I had to carry it home. :) Mike hates it when I bring "junk" into the home. To his credit, the turnover time for said junk is 6 months to a year.
