Final days in Seattle photo dump
Before time gets away from me and it is too late to show these pictures, I wanted to show you some of the last things we did at home before taking off for California. LOTS of pictures to follow...
Mike had to empty and wash 25 pots before they were packed up. California is strict about foreign agriculture. I am excited to get to redo my pots. The only plant I was really sad to have to leave behind was a lily that Mike and I planted in our first apartment shortly after we got married. It has been with us since the beginning!
My last Thursday morning at Samena's outdoor pool at 5:45 am. I swam lots of yards here, and in all of the elements! I ended with a bang...PRing on our monthly CSS test (400 yards for time followed by 200 yards for time). I am going to miss swimming with my buddies, but will not miss the cold walk out to the pool in my suit!
My last time at MOPS at Crossroads Bible Church. Didn't get a picture with all of my table, but at least I did with this friend. I will miss them!
Thursday night, we went out to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. Hannah ate 2 whole personal pizzas (minus a piece for Joel and some crust)!
I made good on my promise to let them go on the 25 cent rides at Crossroads. I gave them each 3 quarters. Hannah hopped in this car and said, "Calvin, put one of your quarters in!" He happily obliged. :)
Don't worry, we don't let Hannah take advantage of her brother...she gladly put in her quarter and let him drive this time, after she tried to make him use one of his at first! :) Joel enjoyed his car ride as well!!
This is the kind of horse that Joel WILL ride. :)
Friday morning they finished loading the truck! I left with the kids before the house was empty.
Filling her up!
We had to stop by Seward Park. It turned out to be a gorgeous day!!!! SOOO many memories here. Too many to count.
Mt. Rainier from Seward Park. I have a fond memory of swimming in the lake here, breathing to the side and getting to view this... I remember thinking, this is the most beautiful place on earth!
The kids love the zip line at Seward too!
Lunch at PCC, a family favorite!
Saturday, we headed over to Bellevue for Mike's last day of coaching the team. If you look carefully you will see that they weren't super focused on the coach. :)
We will miss this Saturday morning activity!
We stopped in to say good-bye to Lake Hills CrossFit. The kids are here with Kayci, their favorite friend! They loved going to CrossFit because they'd get to play with Kayci. We made great friends here this past year.
Saturday afternoon we went downtown one last time.
We met my sister and Randy downtown before going out to dinner.
We went to Japonessa and it was as yummy as it was beautiful!
As we drove to my sister's Saturday evening, we caught this view. Fortunately, there was traffic so we were going slow enough for me to peek my head out of the sunroof and snap this picture.
We had our last sunday dinner for a while at my dad's.
Calvin was close to riding without training wheels! My dad worked with him a lot at first and he was motivated! I love that my dad is the one that pushed both Hannah and Calvin to ride without training wheels.
The very normal "pig pile" playing. We did this when we were kids too!
The kids had to say bye to Auntie and Uncle Randy sunday evening. :***( After they were playing a game of "worms" (don't ask!). :)
Monday morning we had to say good-bye to Gung Gung.
Tummy time!
Tuesday morning we were off to the airport.
Ava slept the entire ride. Here she is all perky at baggage claim!
They were pretty excited about getting to ride in the shuttle sans car seats.
Now we're here in California to stay! We are pretty much unpacked, but not even close to being organized. The kids are tired of us always trying to get more stuff done and so are we, but it has to be done. Onward ho!
Joel doesn't always want to ride that type of horse. I put him on one at the zoo's carousel and he stayed on it for about 25 seconds before clinging to my neck saying "uh-uh! uh-uh!"
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of me and Ava. She's so cute!!! And I'm not talking about the baby. Hahahaha, jk.
<3
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. He seemed eager to get on this horse! It was a pretty miniature horse...25 cent carousel ride. I love the picture of you and Ava too. She is so sweet!
DeleteSo sad you had to dump the lily from when you were first married. You should have left it at your sister's or dad's house or something.
ReplyDeleteLove all the pictures. More pictures is always more better :-)
