Trick or Treat

Our trick or treating was a success!  I made two new costumes and reused two.  I've always made their costumes and try to do it as cheap as possible.  I just can't justify a whole outfit/costume for one day of the year.  It was an easy Halloween this year and it was just what I needed!

I made the Rapunzel wig using a tutorial online.  It was really easy and it turned out so great!

Calvin was proud to be a "PS man."  Sadly, I did not have my camera with me when a real UPS man offered to let us take a picture of Calvin next to his truck.  :(  I had a hard time finding brown this year.  I found a henley and fashioned a lapel out of some felt I had, I also made the UPS patch out of felt.  He told me he wanted to be a UPS man again next year, which is his way of telling me he really liked his costume.

Joel has been repeating "knock knock.  tick o teet.  tanku!" for the past few days since we have been practicing each day.  He started associating wearing Elmo with candy and that was my exact goal.  I made this costume for Hannah when she was 3.

Ava, our little peanut, was so cute all bundled up!  Joel thought she was so cute too and kept saying "Ava peanut," but his pronunciation of peanut wasn't so perfect and well, you know where I'm going.  :)  Joel was our first little peanut two years ago when he was one month old.

We walked around our neighborhood and went to a handful of houses.  We introduced ourselves to some of our neighbors and we happened to meet our backyard neighbors who have two kids the same age as the boys.  It was a perfect way to say hello.  We have had only one set of trick or treaters which is sad because we love to pass out treats.  It's also kind of good because I never bought candy this year and only had the extra pencils I bought for Hannah's class party to hand out.  Oops.  :)  Hope you had a fun Halloween!  Good night!
