UPS man

Two weeks ago I was with my dad and sister and Randy down at my dad's work.  (Cort and I thought he was taking a picture with us, but clearly he didn't get the memo.)  The last time I was there I was just about to start high school and we were picketing with him while he was on strike.  My sister and I thought it was fun to yell, "unfair!" and then we would laugh because we weren't sure what was so unfair.  The time before that was when we were really little and kinda sick and my dad had to go in for some reason.  He told Cort to act really sick so his boss would believe that he took a sick day to take care of her.  She always pretended to be sick so it wasn't too hard for her.  Haha!  Just kidding, but kinda not really.  :)  I must also mention that I WAY underdressed, it was so cold that morning, like 49 degrees.  I was smiling through the shivers.

We were down at his work because he was getting an award and being inducted into the "Circle of Honor."  He has 25 years of safe driving, which is a big deal!  Between the 3 of these drivers they estimated 1.1 million miles of safe driving.  They gave him that leather jacket and his very own parking spot.

At the end they asked the 3 inductees to share a safe driving tip to the rest of the employees.  (If you don't know my dad, this is EXACTLY what he looks like when he is telling you something or giving you advice.)  He had some good advice, but he was also really sweet in saying that it's important to be safe for the last stop of the day...home.

It makes me sad that I won't be around for these sort of things anymore!  I guess the big ones only happen every 25 years anyway.  :)
