My birthday

Not to fear, it's not another wish list.  :)  It's been two weeks and I have yet to post about what we did on my birthday.

We met up with our friends at this "new to us" pool.  It was so much fun and now that Calvin is swimming so well, I didn't feel completely overwhelmed having 4 kids by myself.  The entire pool was shallow enough for Calvin to do some hops if he needed to take a breather.  The water was pretty cold, and these spoiled kids had no hot tub to run to like at our swim club.  Other than that, no complaints!!

The kids spent a good deal of time going down the little slide, but sadly no pictures.  Picture taking happens when Ava is not on the loose near a pool (she has no fear of the water!), and more often when I'm by myself with the kids.  When we meet up with other friends, I am usually socializing and not even thinking about pictures.  Hannah kindly snapped a quick one here.

Later that evening, we had dinner with the same friends.  They got a whole day dose of us!

It was a perfect birthday.  Simple and normal day (except I didn't have to cook dinner or clean the dishes!), enjoyed with the company of my family and friends.  I did some small reflecting that day.  I thought about how I have had some extraordinary past birthdays.  After hours pool parties, doing a triathlon on my birthday, a surprise party, and going whale watching have all been so very fun and exciting.  However, on this birthday, I did what I have been ordinarily doing and I still felt so blessed.  As I thought on this, I realized how fortunate I am to be able to live the life that I love each day.  Thanks everyone for a wonderful day!
