My weekend
By the way, I went to Seattle over the weekend. Just me. Did you get that? No kids, not even the baby. :) It's a longer story than this, but basically I was going to take the baby and had her packed up and ready to go. By the time we got to the airport, the decision was made that I was going to go solo. So, we quickly dumped all of her clothes, toys, food, diapers, etc. from my bags curbside. And then I walked away a free woman.
15 minutes later, the guilt hit me bad. I was ready to call Mike to tell him to come back so I could take her. My sweet baby needed me, right? No, it was me. I needed her. The first thing Mike said to me when I called, "You made the right decision." Isn't he good? I was still feeling super bad, but I slowly got over it and I told him to send me lots of pics.
It was a really quick trip, but I packed in a lot.
My friend, Maggie, was the one who got me up there. We met up Friday afternoon and had lunch at the lake.
I had to swim in the lake. Had to. Do you see me?
Had my last supper. Just thinking about the rainbow roll makes me want to fly all the way back to Seattle.
Went shopping pretty much all day saturday. Having a birthday right before the Nordstrom sale is the best! (It was a good thing I didn't have Ava's stuff because I would not have been able to fit everything in my luggage.)
Made our favorite crab dinner. There was lots more crab to be consumed after this!!
Went for a walk by the Meadowbrook pond after dinner. This is my sister's backyard. So cool!
Last, but not least, we spent the entire weekend crafting. The best part was that once we started, we just left all of our stuff out. Sorry, Randy! That is the hardest part about crafting, by the time you get it all out and get the creativity going, it's time to put it away. I made almost 40 cards this weekend, that's the way I spell success.
It was super fun to get away. I was also super excited to get home and see my babies. As much as I loved getting to run around and do whatever I wanted, stop as many places as I wanted, I was ready to just chill. There is something about the built in naptime that I don't know if I'll ever stop getting used to. The Spanish got it right with their siestas for sure.
Loved my weekend away, thankful for my husband who thinks of me above himself, and now I am happy to be home!
Back to normal business and I am ready.

Just the best weekend! I'm soooo glad you came up. It was good for my soul to spend time with you.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks so much to Mike for holding down the fort, encouraging Linds when she felt that leaving Ava was a mistake, and for funding L's shopping :-) Love you both! xoxo
You probably had closer to 50 cards if you include your "rejects." :)
