Our 4th
We, along with everyone else, decided to get in some beach time for the 4th. The beach is so unpredictable...it was windy and definitely on the chilly side this time.
However, nothing could prevent Mike from going in. He is crazy.
Calvin was in awe of him bodysurfing. Calvin is pretty much in awe of all that daddy does. It is super cute!
The dolphins decided to join Mike!
Besides eat the sand, Ava enjoyed crawling around in it!
When I saw the picture of Ava I was reminded of this one of Hannah in Maui back in 2008. Hannah had just turned 1. The thought of Ava growing up to be like another Hannah gets me all excited. She is going to have her own personality and bring great joy to me and others. It also makes me so sad, look at little Mowgli-legs Hannah, and where did she go? How did the time go by so fast?
I want to go back in time and squeeze this girl and kiss those cheeks!
After the boys went in, we didn't make it much longer. It was just too cold and we had naps and a party to get back to anyway.
We were graciously invited over to Hannah's friend's house for a BBQ. The kids all get a long great and while I always wear a striped shirt, this referee didn't pull any red cards.
One day we will do sparklers in the dark, but for now we enjoy them at dusk.
It was a wonderful celebration!
Two things:
ReplyDelete1. I can't believe you still had the swim suit that Hannah wore back in 2008! That's incredible considering all the moves you've had since then and how many years apart Hannah and Ava are!
2. The picture of Hannah looking at her hot dog--I can really see how she is going to look as a teenager. It's going to happen crazy fast...
