The Fruits of Legos

If there was one word to describe our Christmas gift theme this year, it would be Legos.  All sorts of them.  Cars, tow trucks, monster trucks, junior legos, and a juice bar for girls too.  They are the best!!  But why do they have to be so expensive?

If we're solely talking about the amount of time it occupies a child, they score big.

Add in direction following, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, reward for hard work, the list could go on and this is just while you're building them.  Once they are made, there is imagination and creative play with other sets.  Whoever invented these deserves to be a bazillionaire.

I have yet to even mention the wonderful things that happen when an older brother comes alongside to help.  Kindness, gentleness, patience, positive encouragement, cooperation, laughter, excitement, achievement...  These are the fruits of Legos.

I was originally helping Joel.  Calvin was so interested that I was inched out.  They were having too much fun.  I was having too much watching.  I love getting to experience these moments.

I kept hearing Joel say, "I like this.  I love this one.  I like Legos."

Even more picture perfect is this.  The boys helping each other out and Ava in the background asking for snack.  She points up at the counter, knowing there is something she can put into her mouth up there.  :)

Thank you, Legos.  And thank you to whoever gifted them to my children.
