Current monday situation | On being 2
It's monday and here we are!!
Been trying to catch evidence of Ava's smirk and was only successful with me in the pic trying to do it with her. lol. This girl. She turned 2, and she is proof that there is some ounce of terrible with that rite of passage. More on that in a moment.
There's me, fresh off a wonderful weekend in Seattle and unsure how I feel about being back to reality. (And quite unable to do Ava's face, which is what I was actually trying to achieve here.)
And then there's Joel. Happy, happy, Joel Joel boy. Actually, he is head to toe Marshawn Lynch today. Just needs a helmet. :)
Back to Ava. Hannah called me into the living room the other day because of this. She had taken out about half the package of wipes and they were in a huge mound on her lap. First thing she says to me, "too much, Mama?" I'd say. I only thought to take a pic because it was only one of the "AVA!!" moments that I had that day. Didn't want a picture reminder of the smoothie smeared all over the counter and dripping down the cabinets. Putting the stepstool in the other room and turning it over just isn't enough anymore. Lastly, and this one is an actual problem, she was so upset last night and didn't want to go to sleep. She kept squeezing my neck and screaming at the top of her lungs. She was kind of this way when I got home from the last trip and I know it's her way of telling me that she missed me. Anyway, the problem is, I eventually just had to leave her room. At which point, she kicked her legs up over her crib rail and fell feet first onto the ground. And now that she grew into a big girl the 4 days I was gone (seriously!), she also can open her door. Out walked a sad Ava from her room, and we were so confused as to how that happened. She did it again this morning, and I am waiting for nap time to end to see what she does again. I know kids do this, but none of mine have yet. Not sure what we are going to do, but I'm thinking that the toddler bed might be making it's appearance sooner than we thought! She has gotten so big, and her speech developed SO much in the past few days, but she's still our baby!!!
Have a great monday!
