Halloween throwback

I have been working on Halloween costumes for the older kids and a new minnie mouse headband for Ava.  I showed Ava a picture of Hannah as Minnie Mouse which has got us side tracked into looking at all kinds of throwback goodies.  Ava is legitimately confused as to why I keep telling her that the person on the screen is Hannah.  I would be too!

Halloween 2009

Look at who else dressed up!

This was when we went to grandparents' homes and trick or treated at 4 pm to a couple of friends' homes nearby and were done.

She LOVED answering the door (we got a lot at our little Seattle home) and would watch out the window just waiting for them to come.  She was also pretty much first introduced to candy this day 6 years ago, she was a week shy of 2 years old.  My how that day comes sooner the more kids you have.  I remember trying to make it a lesson in colors and counting as I placed the m&ms on the table.  The next morning she kept going to the window and saying "kids" and then counting and pointing to the table.

I miss this little Minnie so much it makes me want to cry.  Well, I'm actually tearing up now.  These times are fast and they are so precious.  Who cares if they change their mind about what they want to be for Halloween and if they have an extra piece of candy.  They aren't going to trick-or-treat soon and I know I'll be wishing I was busy making them costumes.  I'll miss offering them a sweet treat and seeing their eyes light up and them grin their big grins.  Kids are the funnest and the best, I'm so glad we have a house full of them.
