My new creative outlet
I have been stamping for quite some time and enjoy getting new stamps and inks and eyeing the creativity showcased at my favorite stamp store, Impress. Not until recently have I undertaken carving my own stamps. I actually had some knowledge of how to do it because my grandma showed me when I was little, like 10 years old. She is very artistic and had carved a number of stamps from different materials; erasers, cork, and even styrofoam. She used an exacto knife and so that's what I started with too. I didn't know any better until I saw and bought a linoleum cutter starter set and that changed my life!
These stamps I carved for a friend's upcoming wedding. She is going to use them to stamp her table numbers and place cards. They are Hawaiian leaves in accordance with her tropical wedding theme. She is going to Hawaii on her honeymoon and it happens to be her favorite place, we pretty much see eye to eye on this. :)
I have carved many other stamps for cards, tea towels, onesies, and invitations and will show some soon!
Wow those are really cool Linds! Nice job. I didn't know you made your own stamps!
ReplyDeleteThanks!! I thought you knew that. I made the cherry blossom stamps for your shower invite too. :)
